TransGrid is the major Transmission Network Services Provider in New South Wales.
TransGrid operates within the National Electricity Market in accordance with the National Electricity Law and the National Electricity Rules (Rules).
Chapter 5 of the Rules describes the process to establish or modify a Network connection.

In applying the Rules, TransGrid has regard to the Connection Guidelines established by Grid Australia aimed at ensuring consistent application of this process across the National Electricity Grid.
A key feature of these Guidelines is to provide for effective and detailed formal engagement between intending Connection Applicants and the relevant Transmission Network Service Provider prior to the lodgement of formal Connection Enquiries and Applications as required under the Rules. TransGrid supports and encourages this approach as it enables work to commence before Connection Applicants are usually in a position to lodge a fully Rules compliant Application.
