We have a long history in the energy sector, starting with the establishment of the Electricity Commission of NSW in the 1950s to the inception of Transgrid in 1995.
Against the backdrop of a changing energy landscape, we have developed our network over the past 70 years to meet the growing needs of consumers in NSW and the ACT.
In 2015, Transgrid became a private company when the NSW Government granted NSW Electricity Networks a 99-year lease over the NSW transmission network.
The commercial arm of our business – Transgrid Services Group (TSG) – was established in 2018 to deliver non-regulated infrastructure and telecommunications services. In 2021, TSG was rebranded as Lumea.
