TransGrid has an ongoing commitment to our communities, and to the 3 million homes and businesses across the state that rely on us to keep them connected 24/7. 

While  transmission is a small component of most electricity bills, around 11 per cent on average for residential and small business consumers, we understand the impact of rising electricity prices on the community.  In our role as a transmission network service provider, we have a responsibility to the community, both now and into the future.  

In operating and maintaining a safe, reliable  network, our people work across the state to ensure you have access to the electricity to need, when you need it. We understand the impact this work can have and ensure we behave responsibly in conducting it. We do this in a number of ways. At a grassroots level, we provide support by contributing to a variety of local initiatives of the communities in which we work. Environmental partnerships are another vehicle through which we demonstrate responsibility to our communities. We also have a role in shaping the future of the grid and with this in mind we are always on the lookout for ways that we can support our industry through education and diversity initiatives.
