At Transgrid, we're dedicated to fostering gender equity and creating an inclusive, safe, and attractive career path for women across the energy sector. We're breaking down gender stereotypes to attract and retain talent from 100% of the population.
Increasing women's representation across all levels
To ensure balanced gender representation, we track and measure the composition of our workforce. Our goal is a workforce made up of 40% women, 40% men, and 20% of any gender. In FY24, 40% of our apprentices and 39% of our graduates were women, and our Executive Leadership Team achieved 50% female representation.
We understand that true gender equity includes supporting men in accessing parental leave and flexible work arrangements, creating an even playing field. In FY24, 65% of those taking primary carer parental leave were men, supported by our comprehensive Parental Leave, Flexibility, and Ways of Working policies.
listening and learning from our team
Our commitment to equity includes regular engagement with our employees. Through our CEO-sponsored Diversity Council, annual surveys, and focus groups, we actively listen to our people. We also conduct an annual review of pay and performance data by gender to address any biases.
Industry leadership and collective action
CEO Brett Redman is a member of the Champions of Change coalition, working with industry peers to drive progress in gender equity across our sector. Additionally, our employee networks, including Rise Allies and the Energise Gender Equality Network, provide a platform for initiatives that foster belonging and career growth for women.

Supporting our people holistically
We're proud to offer 15 days of Domestic Violence Leave and a Gender Affirmation Policy, with additional leave to support employees affirming their gender. Our Family-Friendly Workplace certification underscores our commitment to inclusivity and wellbeing.
Finally, we are actively addressing the gender pay gap and increasing representation of women at all levels. View our latest WGEA 2023-24 Gender Pay Gap Report here.
