Students receive Transgrid grants through the Country Education Foundation

We would like to congratulate Riverina students Dharian Causon and Phoebe White, both 18, on each receiving a $2500 grant from the CEF. 

They will both use the grants to study at the University of Wollongong.

Dharian Causon said the grant would give her vital assistance to continue her studies towards a Bachelor of Social Work.

"This grant is very much appreciated. It's going to be very helpful in the process of moving to Wollongong, particularly as a single mother," she said.

"It will help a lot; it will help with my textbooks and it's much appreciated."

Phoebe White will use her grant to study a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education.

"I'll use the grant to continue my studies and I'm really grateful for it."

The foundation receives no government funding and local CEFs are run by a committed group of community volunteers. Beyond the grants, the foundation also mentors the students through their studies.

Transgrid contributed towards these grants as part of the EnergyConnect project. We are proud to contribute to the communities in which we operate, helping to support the success of residents now and into the future.
