Transgrid has published its FY21 Annual Review: Leading the transition to a clean energy future.
03 November 2021
The safety and welfare of our people and the broader community is our highest priority. The business has continued to focus on strategic injury prevention, health and safety risk management during the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis.
Despite the year bringing a new set of challenges with the continuation of COVID-19, we are proud of how the business safely and reliably sustained power to consumers, businesses and essential service providers under difficult conditions.
Over the next 5-10 years, Transgrid has the opportunity to invest more than $11 billion to build new transmission infrastructure so the network can cope with the shift to large-scale, low cost renewable energy, creating 7,000 jobs in regional NSW and $25 billion in economic activity. It’s a significant time for the business as we play our role in making a better power system for Australia.
“Transgrid’s vision is for a clean energy future that benefits communities, the economy and the environment. The vision is centred on a decarbonised economy supported by a resilient and affordable energy system.” Jerry Maycock, Chairman.
This Annual Review showcases our business achievements over the last financial year, and is testament to our commitment to maintaining continuity of the electricity supply to the communities we serve.
