The Innovation Award, which showcases new techniques in asset management, was for developing our digital substation strategy to implement IEC 61850 technology across our substations.
The Information Management Award was for the implementation of our Asset Monitoring Information Platform, which enables us to collect, aggregate, monitor and analyse asset data in a single platform and make timely and informed decisions for the operation of the network.
“It is a tremendous industry recognition of the exceptional work undertaken by TransGrid. I am humbled and honoured to be part of, and lead, a team that strives for excellence and continually delivers on the values as set by TransGrid,” said Lance Wee, Head of Asset Management.
“We embarked on a journey to transform asset management within TransGrid five years ago and the awards demonstrate that we are now setting the benchmark for asset management best practice across the industry. To be leading asset managers is our vision for TransGrid and it shows the importance of our asset management system in delivering value to our security holders and stakeholders.”
The Asset Management Council is the peak industry body representing the Asset Management community in Australia. The annual excellence awards celebrate and recognise excellence and best practice in the management of physical assets through their lifecycle.
TransGrid has won in five of the six Asset Management Excellence categories since 2018, with the recent accolades adding to our existing awards for Safety (Bushfire Risk Management), Environmental/Social (Integrated System Plan) and Diversity.
