We are changing the way we procure high voltage power system equipment and are seeking feedback from current and potential suppliers to help refine our future procurement strategy.
We will be moving away from the previous method of establishing an individual period agreement for each specific item and instead look to create a more flexible category based procurement agreement. This is designed to create a more responsive approach to our overall supply chain performance for both our regulated and non-regulated work.
To seek your feedback, we have released a Market Sounding Document. The purpose of this document is to:
- Notify suppliers about our proposal to establish new panels for future power systems equipment procurement
- Provide an overview of the potential equipment to be supplied under the panel and the proposed operation of the panel
- Act as a market sounding process to seek feedback from potential panel members.
In particular, we will use this document to gain a better understanding of the marketplace and potential suppliers, gauge the interest of suppliers in joining these panels and obtain feedback from potential panel members on the items of equipment included within each panel.
Following this market sounding process, a Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued to the market for membership of the panels. The information obtained from potential panel members will provide our business with a better understanding of the marketplace and allow us to develop a more targeted RFP process for these members.
All comments from any interested party are welcome. The Market Sounding Document can be downloaded from here.
Responses close at 11:00am AEDT Tuesday 7 October 2014 and are to be submitted via our E-Tender website. We look forward to receiving your feedback.
