About HumeLink West
HumeLink will deliver a more reliable and more sustainable grid, create more than 1600 jobs and generate major benefits for local communities along the route.
Transgrid has contracted UGL Engineering Pty Ltd and CPB Contractors Pty Ltd (UGL-CPB JV) to deliver the western portion of the HumeLink project.
HumeLink West involves the expansion of the existing Wagga Wagga 500 kV substation, the design and construction of a new substation at Gugaa and connection works to the future Maragle 500 kV substation. The project also includes a new 500 kV double circuit transmission line to connect the substations at the Wondalga interface point with HumeLink East.

- Monitor impacts HumeLink West and HumeLink East is having on the community
- Identify opportunities to mitigate any negative social and economic impacts
- Improve positive community outcomes
- Show the best ways to monitor, review and report what’s happening
